I can't tell you how happy I am to be able to connect to music. It's actually very difficult for me because I don't have a lot of time to seek it or to listen to anything other than kiddie tunes. Or whatever my husband is playing. He plays music constantly. As a result I've not progressed past the 90s in my music collection except when my MIL buys me the odd album. Speaking of which, I just revisited Anais Mitchell while the boys napped. She really gets straddling cultures and plays with post 9/11 anger toward Arabs. Give it a listen. Any journey to our inner selves, to any meaningful form of consciousness, requires we connect to the distilled truth inherent in tales and mythology. As a global civilisation, we're losing touch with these symbols, unable to recognise the markers along the road. It's no wonder, we're collectively losing our way - losing that vital connection to our inner selves, and to spirit. Its nice to see this point raised about her music.
